HARDROCK 100 (43 hours, 46 minutes)

I finished. Not exactly the time and day I was looking for but I am offically a Hardrocker. Finishing Hardrock meant the world to me. Things fell apart going over Oscar's Pass (13K) coming into Telluride (mile 27). The short of it is that I did a full reset--new goals, new outlook and slugged it out. Hardest thing I've ever done.

Big congrats! That's off the charts huge no matter what the time.

Cool report. Enjoyed the scenery... I guess if you are going to spend that much time outside, it might as well be in the San Juans, one of the most beautiful mtn ranges on the planet.

Thanks Bob! It IS certainly "off the charts." Something about the cumulative effect of going high (repeatedly) that put me down.

@Jake: No doubt. The scenery was spectacular. Incredible mountain range. Have never run a 100 going more than 28 hours. This was new territory. Huge respect for those out there for that amount of time.

Wow! I had tears in my eyes at the end of your report--and a burning desire to make my way to Hardrock one of these years. Incredible! You really tell the story and bare the soul of the ultrarunner. I loved your description of the battle and the triumph and the pain. Amazing!! What a magnificent, magnificent, accomplishment!! I just wanna give you a cyberhug! wow

Thanks for the cyberhug Seeaprilrun (never had one of those!). The atmosphere and energy (and views!) of Hardrock is something to experience. Very easily supported as well with aid at both Telluride and Ouray.

Thank you Rob and Cam. Cam we probably crossed paths without even knowing it. Were you crewing or pacing...spectating?
