Alpine loop from AF side up and over to Aspen Grove and back. Sub 3 hour. Perfect cordouroy snow, soft from sun and groomed either this morning or yesterday. You have to try this if you've never experienced running the loop.

AF to top (8,070 ft): 3.95 miles x 2

Aspen Grove to top: 3.87 miles x 2

15.65 total miles + a few laps around the parking lot to hit 16 even. 2,683 elevation gain.

"Cordouroy snow" - I had an idea, but still had to Google search that one!

That is a lot of elevation change. Nice work. And also, nice treadmill workout Monday. Those were good times.

Fully awesome.

Awesome run. The road is closed to cars past the cave parking lot, right? I've never set foot in that canyon to run because of the narrow roads.

Tom: Yep, "cordouroy." Had to google it myself to see if the term would come up. It did! Great stuff to run on.

Neasts: AF Canyon is open past the cave and all the way up to Tibble Fork Resevoir up the left fork and about another 3-4 miles up the right fork to the Pine Hollow trail head (and the gate). Another great run is from Tibble Fork Lake to Silver Lake Flat and back (8 miles RT). All roads are closed past the gates only an occasional snowmobile and skier/hiker to deal with. Saturday's are busy with snowmobiles.

Jun: Congrats getting into Wasatch. I on the other hand did not. So bummed.
