BRIGHTON MARATHON (25 miles +/- 7,500 vert +/-)

Fun day out on the trail. Low-key, bandit run by local runners. Didn't race today but enjoyed time with Quintin Barney, his daughter Kara for a spell and ran with Matt P. for the remainder of the day.

Race start and finish at Brighton-> Twin Lakes-> Down Days Fork -> Up Mill D to Deso, Scotts Pass -> Guardsman -> Clayton Peak (that was fun) - > and back to Brighton Lodge where it all began.

Ahhhhh!

Some good hills (7,500 vert) and incredible trail. Visited places I've never seen.

Wow! Man, that is some pretty stuff! It must make you nuts to run on a treadmill sometimes, when you have that out your door!

We just did Clayton via the north side a week or 2 ago. That is a cool trail. Great pictures!

That second picture is wild. Love it. Great run.

Always a great adventure and great pics from you. What camera do you carry with you?

From Cam on Tue, Jul 09, 2013 at 14:25:37 from 166.147.72.18

Wow so sick! Wish I was in town for this. You doing millcreek 50k ? whenever that is

From Kendall on Tue, Jul 09, 2013 at 16:17:00 from 208.187.252.10

Thanks all. Incredible run.

Tom: I know...I know.

Sandy: I thought Clayton was the first little bump then learned otherwise. Beast at mile 20.

Jake: See Pfeifferhorn in the background? I'm sure you been there done that.

Neasts: Samsung S3...just my phone. Love to run with a better camera. Interesting how camera phones are better quality than most cameras 10 years ago.

Cam: Of BoSho, Millcreek, Pie & Beer, this one is definitely the beast--and best! I believe Millcreek is listed as the 20th (trying to confirm as this would be a departure from the typical Friday night run) Pie & Beer on the 24th. http://wasatchrunner.wordpress.com/running/

From Kendall on Tue, Jul 09, 2013 at 16:21:37 from 208.187.252.10

@ Cam: Pete thinks the 20th (for Millcreek) is a typo. Stay tuned.

Looks like a great time! Very beautiful shots in the photos. Nice work.

Thanks for the info! Looking forward to that- keep me posted. Thanks !

The Pfeiff pyramid is always recognizable.

I've been up there in summer, but still haven't SKIED it. That's on the bucket list. I need to get my 2008-2011 skiing legs back under me before I take that challenge on, though. If I had tried that this past season, I'd be dead :-)

From Kendall on Tue, Jul 09, 2013 at 17:50:29 from 208.187.252.10

Thanks Riley!

@Jake: Where would you ski it? Back side (or front side depending on your vantage point) down into AF or the bowl down into Maybird Gulch? That's a steep sucker.

From Jake K on Tue, Jul 09, 2013 at 20:32:59 from 67.177.11.154

Couple years ago I would have said NW couloir into Maybird, but I'm much more risk adverse now. I'd like to go off the backside into AF. That side of the ridgeline has long, mellow(er) descents. We've skied Lone Peak and Bighorn from that side.

Wow beautiful pictures. Your trail running adventures look awesome! I'm getting mountain fever...need to get up there soon!
