8 on the JRPT. Nice change of pace. Bit of a head-wind, legs a bit heavy.

I notice that you don't post paces often. Is that something of a trail runners' mindset? I mean, You are more likely to post elevation gains than paces. Is that because it would be next to impossible to compare one trail run to another? I'm just curious. And thanks for all of the great pictures you have put up this month. That is some inspiring stuff.

Hey Tom thanks. Too embarrassed to put down the pace of this one but generally on trail we ARE more likely to list miles and elevation.
Certainly pace has an influence on the overall time but doesn't really have any relevance from trail to trail. Too many variables: grade, terrain, time of day. Each trail has it's own set of challenges and trying to track pace on any run becomes irrelevant as it swings wildly with the ups and downs. More likely on a well-known route we base our overall time against our own and others historical performances. There are a few consistent routes (with a steady grade) where I know, for example, that in order to hit my best time that I need to keep my pace at a 15:30 mm or I'll have no chance.
